The Story Behind the Piece
““Capriole” is a bronze of a Lippizan stallion doing an “Airs above the Ground” maneuver called a capriole. This highly-schooled maneuver was for war horses on the battlefield. It was meant to decapitate soldiers as the horse leaps into the air, then kicks out with both hind feet.” – Cammie Lundeen
