The Story Behind the Piece
“The Runner” was originally commissioned for the Nike Corporation for their business’ headquarters. They desired a portrait of an athletic young woman resting on a bench, as if she had just finished her run. The beautiful model for this piece was renting the apartment above the studio at this time and working as the assistant city manager.” – George Lundeen
