The Story Behind the Piece
“"Wet Paint" is a newborn foal's struggle to stand on new stilt-like legs for the first time. The inspiration came from those moments when I was lucky enough to witness a new life come into the world. It's always exciting to see the new foal after the long 11-month gestation period of a horse.
The title is whimsically descriptive of the wetness of the foal and of the foal's coloring. "Paint" is a color and a breed of horse. In the past, these color patterns were referred to as "Pinto" or "Piebald.”” – Cammie Lundeen
